It's important that you're aware of the implications of the Spam Act on your business. You must ensure that your marketing practices do not contravene the Act and Regulations. For example, I recently asked the question that if I picked up cards or brochures from a trade show, and we had a discussion, can I then add them to my database and email them. The answer was a categorical "no". There is no ïmplied consent" here. They are there promoting THEIR products, not as targets or leads for other businesses. Unless you get their verbal permission to email, then don't do it.
